Kate Larman - A world of inspiration...

WEEK FOUR AT BEYOND COMMNICATIONS.

This week at Beyond was mainly blogging and starting the collection of images for the new month again.

Along with this I was given a research project for a new pop up shop for the shoe company Croc to be open during the Olympics, I was briefed about the new project and then told to collect research that went under certain headings that were relevant to the Croc companies aesthetics and views. As this was the very first step in the project the research extremely varied, anything could be used to help steer the ideas and I am looking forward to seeing where the project goes from this initial research.

During this week I have also had the chance to use illustrator, a program that I had never really used before. I got given a blank eyelash packaging template and some mood boards that had been previously created for a project I had worked on a few weeks ago and was told to explore and play around with design ideas for the packaging. I really enjoyed the freedom to get used to a new program and design something, myself from scratch. Although it took me a while to find my feet with illustrator I ended up with several designs that I was proud of and can happily say that after this week I am competent and using this program and had an extremely fun time playing with it.

Week three at Beyond Communications.

This week I began by going back to the animal images I was given in my first week, the photoshopped  images had been looked over by the client and there were some miner changes that had to be made in colouring and cropping of the photos. I went through the selected images that the client had chosen and made theses changes.

I was then briefed on another Eylure packaging project, a new false eyelash range by Katy Perry. There were four different colours of lashes and each one needed a slight change in the package, this was my job. I looked at the new design and had to come up with ways to alter each one, specific to the lashes it was to contain. Along with this task I had to also scan in all the lashes into the computer and edit them to be used in the packaging pitch.

As it is coming to the end of the month I had to go back and look at all the collected inspirational imagery for April and pick eight specifically interesting images to research and to write about to be added to the Beyond blog.
